I doubt gun violence has much of an effect on our life expectancy.. this is a reach. You can claim we have a violent gun problem, but its simply not enough to impact the overall life expectancy in our country...

Huge amounts of fentanyl crossing the broken border, dressed up to look like candy sure cant be helping. Trump acknowledged the issue of epidemic white deaths. Looks like its been scuttled now.

I’m ready to check out.
Had enough of this clown show.
Unfortunately, knowing my luck, I’ll outlive everyone I know.

While fentanyl has a role, as I understand this excess death increase is across most western countries (i saw the uk excess death data for 2022) and they don't have a fentanyl problem.

Firearms are the number 1 cause of death of children in the US. And the death of children skews the mortality rate significantly. When you think about low life expectancy in the middle ages it's not because people didn't live into their 70s/80s. It's that infant mortality was so high.

Firearms recently became the number one cause of death for children in the United States, surpassing motor vehicle deaths and those caused by other injuries.

Am I the only one who doesn’t really care about life expectancy? I mean we’re all gonna die some day and our life expectancy is a lot greater than it was 100 years ago. If people want to make unhealthy choices or end their life prematurely I say good on them. Less people in the world isn’t a bad thing.

is life really that great where we wanna live forever?

I think life expectancy is measured by quality of life. So its a good gauge of how well people within the US are living..

I don't really care how the US compares to other countries as long as we are not way behind the average.. and without even looking, i am willing to bet the US is within the top half.. so i am good with that!
