For years now, every time there is a horrific shooting, the same people instantly react, calling for gun bans, increased background checks, waiting periods, and other programs. Invariably some of them get enacted, and the rate of shootings, murders, etc. keep right on going, with no reduction (and sometimes they increase.

And just as inevitably, soon there is another horrific mass shooting or three. And the same people start in with the same demands: More schemes that have ailed in the past... along with blaming government for failing to do enough.

Well, in one way they are right. In giving in to these terrified hysterics and enacting their programs, the govt is wasting its time, passing useless programs instead of things that actually work, and our children keep dying.

When will they finally stop listening to the hysterics whose programs let the killers keep right on killing? When will they finally get around to trying things that have actually worked in the past?

Posting armed guards at every school, in cooperation with local police departments who know the area and know how may guards would be needed to really make a difference, has worked. It's expensive, but are our children's lives not worth the extra expense?

Or we could allow for guards of a different, and far more numerous, nature: Obey the 2nd amendment for a change, and let any law-abiding adult who wants to, carry. A teacher if they want, a deliveryman at the school, a janitor, somebody walking their dog past the campus, plus many other such.

Some demented thug who wants to shoot up the school and get tons of headlines after he's dead, would know that there's probably someone nearby with a gun who knows how to use it. So he probably won't be able to rack up the huge body count he's hoping for. And maybe some of them will decide not to do it in the first place. Presto, a reduction in shootings, without a shot being fired.

Why do the horrified spectators always call for "solutions" that have failed already? And why does the govt listen to them, and let the killings go on without restraint? Isn't it time they listened to those whose solutions are already proven to work instead?

The term common sense when applied by liberals to describe gun control is mutually exclusive.

the liberals keep putting up the same old mantra of gun control, and it doesnt work, and never has. but when you suggest options that actually CAN work, they poo poo them saying they are too expensive. oh really? you think its too expensive do protect our children?

the liberals are more than willing to completely trash the constitution to get what they want, total control over the people, and dont kid yourselves because that is exactly what they want.

eliminate the constitution, and now you can make it illegal to speak against the government, illegal to own a firearm, illegal to remain silent, illegal to require an attorney when being questioned.

so tell you what gun grabbers and liberals, lets go ahead and wad up the constitution completely. lets make this country just like china or the old soviet union, or north korea shall we? no longer will we have the checks and balances of three branches of government, we can lump them all into one branch, and let anyone propose a law that the dictator, i mean president can institute any time he wishes. lets eliminate private property rights, lets eliminate freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and the right to a speedy trial, and the right not to incriminate yourself. lets eliminate the need for a search warrant for LEOs s they can come into your home any time they wish and search it just because.

and lets make it easy for LEOs to search your car any time they wish, and ask for your papers just because you decided to drive over an imaginary line on the ground.

lets just eliminate all our rights completely and let the government decide what is best for us. and make sure everyone votes in every election, but there is only ever one candidate on the ballot, the one approved by the government.

and lets let the government throw someone in jail just because, no speedy trial, no right to council, no right to know the charges against you, not right to defend yourself, no right to know the evidence against you, and the verdict is already known in advance because there is no jury trial.

is this what you liberals want?

How many more of our children have to die before the gun-controllers finally start advocating programs that work for a change?

The term "common sense" translates to "If you don't agree with my common sense solution then you're an idiot". As soon as I see someone claiming a "common sense" solution I know they have no respect for anyone else's opinion. What is common sense to one group doesn't mean it's common sense to another.

Fire is always met with fire.

How many hundreds of millions of Americans have to give up their freedoms to people promising to save their children but can't actually deliver?

Writing new laws is relatively easy and politicians LOVE to parade their freshly inked papers around and shout: "LOOK! I did good, yes? Vote for me again!" Meanwhile, the problem continues unabated.

It happens OVER AND OVER yet people still believe their Government will save them if only they would give up one more personal freedom.

No response from the "gun control" pushers? Why not? You DO want to reduce shootings, murders etc., don't you?
