Depends on the case I guess.

I don't mind the creation/enforcement of traffic laws and speed limits if it keeps me safer while driving.

Police subjecting me to unreasonable search and seizure in the name of public safety? Don't agree with that.

Of course not. What's the point of living without freedom? Hence, all the safety in the world is nothing in the absence of freedom.

Benjamin Franklin answered that question more than two centuries ago.

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

Nothing has changed since his time which would make the answer any different.

When the patriot act was passed many on the left were quoting Benjamin Franklin. during covid, the right were. so i guess it depends on what side of an issue you are on. for me, it’s a giant NO!
