Jewish people are not a completely monolithic group in terms of ideals and values. I don't know why that is so hard to understand.

Because it's mostly the right that have persecuted them.
Blacks have also been persecuted throughout history, and they tend to vote liberal. Seems consistent to me.
Trump claimed "no one has done more for Israel than me". Then complained that American Jews don't love him more. Which is the same old line that knee-jerk support for Israel's government somehow equates to pro-semitism, which is ridiculous because, after all, Jewish Americans are Americans first.

Why Trump is bothering to bring this up now is unknown.

He does things for Israel for what purpose? Is it because it is the right thing to do, or does he think he is buying people's support and they owe him?

It was Nixon that opened the path in meeting with Meir and signing the nuclear agreement. After which most Presidents simply extended the agreement.
I don't really understand the desire to claim the accolades when history shows who demonstrated the effective talks.
Fwiw, we pay Israel to fight for some of our allies. In return we shut our mouths about their nuclear holdings .

The use of ' better do it now or you won't have blah blah blah' was his go to during another rattling event. I didn't buy it then and don't now. I would not insult trump by saying he is a man of faith or understands the faith life. I'm sure his white supremacists enjoyed his slight to a particular faith ..
I'm from NYC. From my observation. Jews are staunch democrats. Only if you were a jew that is pro Israel voted republican.
