Florida (like Texas) exemplifies that having a high level of demographic diversity does not necessarily benefit Democrats. The state's lack of income tax is among the factors that draws more conservative minded people, and ensures Republicans have an electoral advantage since voters don't want such policies to change.
Florida becoming a solid red state isn't necessarily bad for Democrats in the electoral college. There are a lot of conservative, middle class to affluent baby boomers and Gen-Xers moving in from Michigan and Pennsylvania every year which helps to keep such Rust Belt states competitive even as Florida gets redder.
The polls and the voting statistics say otherwise.
Then Hopefully Nov. 8 will stop their gravy train. and they will quickly realize they've been lied to, get to work and start contributing to the other side of the balance sheet.
With a mostly Latino & Jewish population it seems like it would be a cinch. But it hasn't happened. Making me wonder.
When will Florida turn from Purple to Blue state?
During the Cold War, the most anti-socialist immigrants found a welcome haven & hub here, even if they had at best a questionable record on human & civil rights.
Florida is a conservative sanctuary. I don't see it going blue any time soon.
It will get redder the next several decades. I suspect by 2032, it will not be contested for POTUS, with the GOP simply coasting to victories in Florida.
