CNN also pointed to a report from 1999, which found that Black Americans, high-school dropouts, and low-income people played the lottery on a more frequent basis.

This is like Biden telling black HBCU students that they are “just as smart” as regular college students.

Black people should fear white liberals trying to protect them.

Can they just mind their own business and let people have their own fun?
Why? Peons have no rights.

What's next? Stacey Abrams declaring beef brisket racist?

This is literally some white liberal elite saying "Black and brown people are too stupid, and are being preyed upon by the evil lottery."

Just because something is legal does not mean you have to partake.

It's truly amazing how according to these "activists" how many things black people are unable to resist...like beets and cat toys. #keyandpeele

There have been people in Maryland claiming that the Lottery, liquor stores and liquor ads are racist for years. In fact now, in a couple jurisdictions, if a liquor store closes down a new license won't be issued if the neighborhood has "too many" other stores or if the demographics are too weighted one way. No problem getting new licenses in White neighborhoods, though.

According to a new CNN article: ...despite the extreme low chance of winning, state lotteries still aggressively market the lottery and sell tickets to low-income communities... and: "These communities are disproportionately made up of Black and brown people. Critics say the consequence is that marginalized people will be driven into deeper debt by a system that is transferring wealth out of their communities," CNN’s Nicquel Terry Ellis and Justin Gamble wrote.

Similar to the hoax about black & brown people being too unsophisticated to obtain IDs for voting, they are apparently incapable of budgeting for lottery tickets as well.

Good thing Woke "big brothers" are willing to make these decisions for them.

This is ridiculous.

I'm just abaout as white as folks come, and I've never lived or done any significant business in what I'd consider an 'impoverished' area'. I don't know that I've ever been in a single convenience store that doesn't sell lottery tickets. Not one. In any state that has a lottery. The banners in the window of the store in the barrio are the same ones in the window of any other store.
