Russia needs Ukraine and other territories. Even before Covid, Russia was a dying nation with a declining population. When the USSR fell, Bush (1) did not rub their faces in their failure; in fact we propped them up. In 1992, $4.5 billion in aid from the US and anther $1 billion from the G7; in 1993, we gave Russia $1.3 billion in aid; 1992 another $642 million to Russia and other members of the CIS and on and on...Though a smaller economy and an emerging market, they were welcomed to join the G7.

Russia's invasion is a direct result of its failure under Putin. He realizes that without Ukraine, Russia will remain a dying nation, with Ukraine, Russia is an empire. To restore the empire, Russia violated its guarantee to honor Ukraine's border that it signed at the Budapest Agreement.

I love Pink Floyd to death. But I was always a Gilmour fan mostly. I wish this band and all others stuck to making music and nothing else.
Shut up and enjoy your millions.

I’ve been saying this for some time now. When the ussr collapsed, they should have been finished for good. The smaller republics should have been helped first.
USA does what it does best, leave room for more conflict/ war later on to make some more money.

The smaller republics were helped. Since 1992, $28 billion were given to former Soviet republics.

I’m from Georgia. If that money was sent I don’t know where it went,
We left in 1992 but our relatives went through hell since then trying to make it.

And therein lies the problem...corruption and systems not in place to handle the aid. Most of the former Soviet republics have simply replaced one form of autocracy and corruption for another.

Precisely. Still I think more could have been done to make sure Putin doesn’t get to where he is now.
For America this is just fun and games. Billions in contracts, everyone knows nuclear will never be used by either side. Just chess for fun mostly.

LOL. No, its not because of Trump. Trump, Tucker Carson and other pro-Russia entities want Ukraine to give up and give Russia what it wants.

There is no agreement because Ukraine will not accept anything other than Russia to leave their territory, and Russia will not accept anything less that significant portions of Ukrainian territory. Ukrainians are willing to fight and die for their country, while people like Trump always look for the white flag of surrender or other appeasement options.

Let’s say Russia keeps going and takes over the whole Ukraine. What measures will the west take? More silly sanctions?
There is nothing stopping them from doing just that.
Fatal mistake was made when they were allowed to occupy and annex crimea.

Roger Waters was stripped of his right to use the name Pink Floyd in 1985 so yes the title is misleading.
He cannot perform or promote himself as Pink Floyd.

He also been accused of promoting antisemitism and even wore a Nazi uniform during a performance in Germany recently which has prompted an investigation by the Berlin police.

Sounds like another Authoritarian lover allying himself with Putin and the Nazis.
