Well the Romans lost their religion but gained Christianity.

Gibbons blames it largely on taxation.

And they did let those 2 million Goths cross the Danube, becoming an alien entity within the empire.

Yes, a country is like a home for a very extended family.

Its main purpose is to keep in the people you want and to keep out the people you don't want.

It is exclusive by its very nature.

Who is going to teach it to you ?

Your parents ? Your government ?

Look around at the youth today ... 6 year olds shooting their teacher, high school students beating the crap out of their teachers, organized mass looting, and "Friday night lights" is turning into "Friday night gun shots".

Ok..so the violin is playing..."It's always been like this".

There are 42 million people currently living in the United States whose native or first language is Spanish. This number does not include bilingual (Spanish and English) speakers.

This population lives largely in their own communities, separate from where mainstream Americans live.
Those are important similarities, but that's where the similarities end. The Romans gave the Visigoths complete autonomy of the lands granted them. The Romans could not tax that land. They may have even had to ask permission to travel through it. The loss of those taxes made it even more difficult to fund faraway legions. There were other land grants and with each land grant the empire weakened.

It doesn't help that everyone hated them and their reputation for lying and breaking their word made it difficult to form new alliances.

We don't give away land free from taxation to illegal aliens, but we sure spent our treasure to support them.

I'm pretty sure that's what the French, Germans, Israelis etc said about the Roman occupiers, but there is no comparison, because Romans went in with military force and took what they wanted, including slaves and made those lands part of the empire. I guess we did that with Texas, California, etc but thats a different story.

Good grief. There's that analogy only used by the functionally illiterate, again.

In the Handmaid's Tale, women were FORCED to have unprotected sex. Here, in the US, women CHOOSE to have unprotected sex. BIG difference.

95% of unintended pregnancies in the US are due to women voluntarily participating in unprotected sex during the cycle in which they conceived, by their own admission (Guttmacher). They're choosing to have unprotected sex themselves, the exact OPPOSITE of what happens in Handmaid's Tale.

They already made the choice to have unprotected sex. They don't get to KILL another human being just because they're unhappy with the consequences of their own voluntary actions.

Good thing developing fetuses aren't human beings then.

It’s almost as if, by being born, they have died to you. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.

Prisoners? Immigrants? The sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn. — Pastor Dave Barnhart

Also, this is a fetus during the common stages of abortion:

If that was on your wall you’d use 409 on it.

Late term exists but that’s rare, and often the mother wanted it. Which is why she kept it for that long. But unfortunately had medical complications…
All you have to do to determine a developing baby is a human life is to ask yourself, what happens to the developing baby after it's aborted? Does it continue to grow and develop after it's aborted? Or does it die? It dies. Therefore, it was once a human life. Abortion kills a human life.
