Except in todays universities there is only one view point allowed and all other view points will be shouted down or physically attacked. Invited guest speakers espousing any of those differing view points are either forced to cancel by administration or are attacked (verbally and or physically) when trying to speak if allowed to continue with the speaking engagement. Students who hold those opposing view points have said they felt the need to keep their opinions to themselves or face retribution from fellow students and faculty. Even some students who served in the military have said they felt the need in some schools to not reveal to fellow students they served in the military. On some campuses there have been outbreaks of physical attacks of Jewish students. Today’s universities don’t accept differing viewpoints.
Penn is a private school.
According to right wingers, if a private school is a right leaning Christian school... they are allowed to do what they want. Bring in who they want. Keep away who they want. And everybody should shut up and deal with it. It is their "right" to operate how they see fit.
Every week there is a thread on here complaining about how some obscure private school has a policy or prof that they provides right wingers with faux outrage. We don't hear any "it's their right to operate how they see fit".
Penn can do what they see fit. And Huntsman can put away his wallet if he doesn't like it.

again, verily I ask unto you....this guy is simply giving no more money to them because behaviour they do, he does not like...how is anyone 'cancelling' anything?
It is the schools right to operate as they see fit, they are, and Huntsman is exercising his right to donate as he sees fit?
It would seem that if there is faux outrage, it is due to the left because someone no longer wants to fund their lunacy? boo hoo.
I stopped contributing to my school when I saw the rise of woke nonsense, and the cults developing around Climate change, BLM, etc where no data, nuance, or rational thought was allowed into the discussion. This is what got me, any discussion around the data was viewed as some kind of dissent, which meant it was no longer about a liberal education, but indoctrination. The pro-Hamas flare ups are the just the latest symptom, but sure there's more to come. So many better places to put your money.
I hadn't seen the piece before.....I've made many of the the same arguments for years.
Also it's instructive to recall that the establishment press termed communist states, "conservative" for many years. The NYT did so*. Candy Crowley CNN's long time chief foreign affairs correspondent was likely to last to ditch the lie.
*It's especially fresh that the NYT employed the obvious communist sympathizer Walter Duranty for many years but years later still couldn't get the left right thing correct per The USSR.

It is a private school that still gets tax payer dollars as do other Ivy League schools. A study showed over a 5 year period the Ivy League got 41 Billion dollars in tax payer dollars. If they are going to take the money they should have some degree of accountability including non incidiary rhetoric from the student body and staff.

Well done what? Like you, he demonstrates he's incapable of distinguishing between Israelis and Jews.
Next time there's an archaeological presentation at Hebrew Union University, why don't you come with me so's you can learn the difference?
