There is nothing more efficient about an electric stove. They take longer to heat a pan and waste energy while cooling off. With my gas rangetop, I get instant full heat and when my dish is done I can cut it off.
I understand that induction stoves don't have those issues, are more controllable than gas, don't heat the kitchen, and don't emit hazardous fumes. I'll keep my gas range top, but I would look at induction if we were buying new.
Anyone with a lick of sense, who have used both types, realizes how much better gas stoves are. You don’t need to be a chef to reach that conclusion. Chefs just spend more time enjoying the benefits of gas cooking. But anyone who wants to “simmer” a pan of anything, knows how difficult it is to do that on electric stoves.
Simmering isn't hard at all. I was doing that when I was 6 years old and we had an electric cooktop.
Eh, who cares? I’ve never been a gas stove fan anyway. All the ones I’ve used had problems. Electric stoves have proven more reliable for me and I do t have to re-learn the cooking on a gas stove. If Kamala likes one, more power to her, she should have that choice, not be made to feel guilty for it.

I'm pretty sure most, if not all, chefs prefer gas. After probably a couple of decades of watching cooking shows, I've only seen one who used electric, and her show is based out of her home so maybe they only had electric hookups when they moved in, I don't know.

He is the only husband she's had. They're referring to him that way because the vice president and spouse are second from the top position in America, the way the president's spouse is the First Lady. It's confusing; the proper term would be Second Gentleman and as a title it should be capitalized.
