A successional amendment will never happen, it would take two thirds of all States and a Constitutional Convention. Does anyone ever see that happening in this political environment?
There's one United States, composed of 50 states, which are all shades of purple. We need to stop with all the polarization and extremism and hate, and find our common ground and come together again in sanity. Not the opposite, of some ridiculous civil war or national divorce scenario, which would do nobody any good.
The only folks jonesing for secession (and often civil war as well) are conservatives who act like children wanting to take their toys and go home.
Your ilk might be one of the reasons citizens might want to secede. Have you considered that?

You're probably right, however ....In Texas v. White (1869), the Supreme Court ruled unilateral secession unconstitutional, while commenting that revolution or consent of the states could lead to a successful secession.

Let these backward RED States try to make it on their own without BLUE States funding their crappy Economies.
We will see how long they last without Social Security checks, Medicare, VA, and Medicaid !
