The phrase "justice is blind" reflects the idea that justice should be impartial and not influenced by wealth, power, or any other factor. It emphasizes the importance of fairness and equality in the legal system, suggesting that judgments should be based on evidence and the law rather than on personal characteristics or circumstances. This concept is symbolized by the blindfolded figure of Lady Justice, representing objectivity and the equal application of the law to all individuals.

As much as I wished "Justice is Blind", I don't believe that it is.

These days, it seems like Lady Justice is a partisan Democrat.

No. The wealthy can always get off scot-free.

I believe that "Justice" is dispensed with bias in most cases in my opinion. Money, power, personal gain, politics, etc. all plays into how "Justice" is dispensed. I don't believe it's an even playing field at all and I'd like to hear from others what their thoughts are.

Since I'm a two finger typer (one finger when I'm trying to cut down on mistakes), I may leave this thread to the professionals to debate.

I think the spirit is there but the reality does not always match the idiom.

Even though they are sworn to truth, people lie. What someone intends to say is not always interpreted as intended.

So....when judges and jurors are left to dole out justice, it is sometimes based on faulty information.

I gave up on "Justice is Blind" years ago. All sides have abused the justice system, and DA's/Judges don't honestly try to decide law... they use bias/politics/their own warped power to decide how to rule.

When it comes to the justice system I just try to stay quiet on the sidelines, not open myself to this corrupt rule of law, and vote as my rights allow me to.

I think that's about all we can do and hope for. What a shame.

The idea of democracy is beautiful. The execution of it is horrendous.

The question is loaded.

In principle, yes, of course it is. Everyone is equal under the law. That's one of our founding principles.

In practice, no, of course it's not. Everyone is NOT equal under the law. Obviously.

So were you asking about the principle of "justice" or the justice system as it currently exists in this country?

Not sure about it just being blind to money. I live in NY and their DAs seem to be more interested in color and nationality. Violent migrants are getting arrested by police but released without charges.

Judges and juries should be replaced with A.I.. Let the facts speak for themselves and determine the verdict. No emotion or prejudices involved.

There's no prejudice in AI?

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people see it that way, and that's why we're going to be completely screwed within a few years time.

Do not trust AI. Your trust WILL be exploited by the people who built & trained it. It's a 100% guarantee. They already exploit every other aspect of your interactions with them.
