I just love the hate in Pelosi's voice. It shows her true colors. Is she that ignorant to think we don't realize a lot of jobs were lost, not because of Trump but because of Covid?
Biden didn't create a lot of jobs, people were just going back to work.
I love that that the MSNBC host corrected her. Nancy's comeback was priceless.
The dems are getting really scared and reaching for any positive they can even though they come up with false positive.
Just think how light this pushback was. It was literally Pelosi saying Biden has created the most jobs in history, then Tur saying "well there was a pandemic, and people rejoined the workforce". This is headline news, because of how corrupt the media has become.
When Right wingers call the corporate conservative media "LiBrUL," you know that they've gone off the deep end.
A voice from a deep end dweller who lives in an undersea biosphere and missed the news for the past 8 years. Mainstream media has enabled the destruction of America by the socialist biden administration.
Pelosi has come out with wild bizarre statements over the years which would have forced her to resign under pressure from the media. socialist mainstream media propaganda machine keeps her afloat.
When Democrat leaders are criticizing liberal news media for being pro-Trump, you know they've gone off the deep end.
Polosi, and many others including good old uncle Xoe, wild-eyed Schumer and dozens of other liberal democrats oh pardon me I mean communists, went off the deep end years ago. Decades in many cases. Polosi will be in there until they carry her out on a stretcher.
Nancy Pelosi Calls Out Katy Tur For Being A Trump Apologist
correct version...
Nancy Pelosi Calls Out Katy Tur For Being A Truth Apologist
------------------------
In the OPs article, it says...
The idea that the pandemic was solely responsible for the job losses under Trump is a false Republican talking point.
Studies have shown that Trump’s economic policies had already pushed the economy into recession. The economy was already in recession before COVID. Trump was going to have a bad jobs record without the pandemic. Solely blaming the pandemic for the job losses ignores what Trump did to the economy.
It links to another article this outlet penned, which quoted a statement made by the National Bureau of Economic Research in an CNBC article.
The worst U.S. downturn since the Great Depression is now officially a recession, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Though it seemed a foregone conclusion, the NBER, the official arbiter of recessions, made the declaration Monday as the nation tries to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
“The committee recognizes that the pandemic and the public health response have resulted in a downturn with different characteristics and dynamics than prior recessions,” the NBER’s Business Cycle Dating Committee said in a statement. “Nonetheless, it concluded that the unprecedented magnitude of the decline in employment and production, and its broad reach across the entire economy, warrants the designation of this episode as a recession, even if it turns out to be briefer than earlier contractions.”
In making the declaration, the committee determined that a “clear peak in monthly economic activity” occurred in February. The peak in quarterly activity happened in the fourth quarter of 2019.
As a rule of thumb, recessions are thought to entail two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. However, that isn’t always the case, and it’s generally the NBER’s decision to determine recessions.
So basically this group determines on their own what is a recession and what is not recession - because apparently there wasn't two consecutive quarters of GDP decline.
The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) Business-Cycle Dating Committee, which certifies and dates U.S. business cycles, defines a recession as “a significant decline in economic activity that is spread across the economy and that lasts more than a few months.” A range of monthly indicators has been used by the committee to determine the peaks and subsequent troughs in economic activity. The period between the peak and the bottom of a subsequent downturn is called a recession.
There is no fixed rule for weighting these indicators, and it often takes the committee several months or years to determine a business-cycle peak or trough. To answer whether the U.S. economy fell into recession, our analysis compares the movements of the indicators cited by the NBER committee in 2022 with those in previous recessions.
There used to be a fixed rule... but it didn't serve them.
Instead, they moved the goalposts.
So when Pelosi puts out the talking point the Trump started the recession, and not COVID... it's make believe and you have to dig thru multiple layers to find the truth.
I saw a video of that. Telling the truth to a democrat is like showing the cross to a Dracula.
It was Trump who was BEGGING states to reopen after "the pause." Trump was pleading with cities and states to open schools and businesses, and it was the mayors and governors who either blindly believed the lies and misinformation from the likes of Fauci, or they wanted to create economic chaos in hopes this would prevent Trump from winning reelection.
Democrats ALWAYS place the politics of their political party above the welfare and interests of the people or the nation.
