FORT WORTH, Texas — The cost of the April raid on a polygamist compound in West Texas is expected to top $14 million, about one-third of it in lawyers' fees, according to a published analysis of state records.
Well, the fine citizens of the Republic of Texas must be very proud of their public officials for p****** away more that $14 Million of their hard earned money! And just wait until the awards from the civil suits start rolling in! Paternalism always has a price, and this f*** up is in the tens of millions of $$$! Oh happy day!

That is the case many times in enforcing the law.The bill will get higher as it is not over yeat. That's just the civil case on custody; They will probably be filed individaully as the judge required costing more and then probably a crimainal case next. Most of that was to provide attorneys for each parent.

Yeah, I think that the military thought the raid was some kind of war games!

I wonder if anyone knows what the cost of that raid was.

Janet Reno would have handled this situation in a different manner...thank God she's committed to that asylum in Indiana...

I wish I were a lawyer in this case...I'll bet 200 million won't get it in damages...Texas better get the oil rigs pumping to pay this one...

Actually, I live in Nanticoke which is where Wilkes-Barre receives an enema when it's constipated! I see that you've moved on to greener pastures from the lovely heights of Mountain Top!

Money should not be an object of concern when it comes to the law and justice.
