I don't know exactly how all this works, but shouldn't they keep discussing a subject that's this important before taking a 5-week vacation?

Why did democrats turn off the lights and microphones and chase reporters away to deny coverage of the Republicans' continued discussion, rather than do the right thing and stay to hammer out some sort of solution, temporary or otherwise...?

"...Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and other GOP leaders opposed the motion to adjourn the House, arguing that Pelosi's refusal to schedule a vote allowing offshore drilling is hurting the American economy..."

"...Only about a half-dozen Republicans were on the floor when this began, but the crowd has grown to about 20, according to Patrick O'Connor..."

More pandering to the clueless by the Republicans. They know full well that expanded exploration rights are on the calendar and when. But since they aren't actually good for anything else, Boehner et al will try to spin some propaganda out of the fact that when is not today. Where were they on closing the Enron loophole, by the way...something that would have had its favorable effects in a far more immediate timeframe? Oh, they were busy working to block it, that's right. So we won't see that again until September at the earliest...

This is the Democrats' election to lose, and if they keep going in this direction it's going to hurt them.

You Democrats need to get a new speaker....she's nuts

It was nothing more than pure drama to convince their constituency that they are working.

They are ALL nuts and have been since the Civil War when they first tried to destroy this nation.

Why the hell does our Congress get to vote on their own raises and constantly take long vacations?

I'm more in favor of Revolution everyday that goes by. Washington is way too much of a circus and our politicians are not having their feet held to the fire anywhere near enough.

BTW, I'm not taking sides in this. I'm simply irritated that they get a 5 week break.

You get to vote on them every 2 years. Express your concern then.
