what has happened to us america? WE OWN THIS COUNTRY. yet weve become lazy. instead of growing into a more self suficient self governed society weve decided to get off here and offer more and more power to a choice of 2 "elected" parties who, instead of working for the people, work the people. they are only concerned with their own self intrest. coincidently they need us content so they keep us under an illusionary freedom. WE SHOULD NEVER BE CONTENT. freedom isn't given it comes from within. we are america the greatest people on the face of the earth. EVERYONE OF US should strive for perfection.

And so we are: perfect greed, perfect indebtedness and perfect ignorance.

Yes, the reds and blues know the term 'divide and conquer' very well. While we obsess over trigs paternity or michelles college thesis they get by with---well, treason. The reps and dems have sold out the common man and the common good for lobbyists, power and money. And yet look at the majority of posters, all they can see is that 'their' party is the right one, and that other party is the corrupt one (or at least not as corrupt).
We have screwed ourselves and who knows how many future generations with this type of anti idealism.

Right on. I bet those responsible for this fiasco LOVE to see the constant partisan bickering and squabbling that subtracts the attention from them!
In fact they're probably feeding it as we speak, by going to one side and whispering sweet poisons into their ears while pointing at the others, then crossing over to the other side to do the exact opposite same.

It reminds me of this joke I heard once regarding why it was that Third World crabs always seem to get eaten while First World crabs always seemed to escape that grim fate.

The joke goes that after the fisherman throws the First World crabs into his bucket, they all escape helping each other climb out by cooperating in forming a ladder while the Third World crabs always stayed trapped because they spent all their efforts in trying to pull each other down.

Gentlemen, we are now the 3rd World crab.
