I am tired of walking on eggshells around people who voted for Bush. Just ONCE I'd love to say I told you so! However, I am finding that those I know who voted for Bush get really irked if I mention the smallest thing - like, oh, um, it only took 8 years of Bush to ruin this country.

Anyway, I do give my republican brother SOME credit for seeing the light and supporting Obama. But I am tired of holding my tongue and having to protect their (the republicans in my life) feelings. I thought republicans were NOT into touchy feely stuff.

At any rate, any Bush voters willing to step up to the plate and confess? Do your pentinence? (or whatever it's called in the Catholic world). Ready to admit the left was right all along, and that we are only in this mess because of failed RW policies?

I for one am against any bailout. I do give those republicans who voted against it credit, along with the democrats who voted against it. Why should I pay for the stupidity of those who were so greedy and their supporters? Those who only cared about their TAX DOLLARS, the rest of the country be you-know-what. So afraid to let a single mom "mooch" off the system that they'd just as soon support this regime and watch the country go down the tank?

Well, I have been silent long enough. My house is paid for and I am debt free. Why should I have to bail out any greedy Wall Street tycoon? Why? And I speak like a conservative here, I know, but I would much prefer my tax dollars go to and at the risk that a single mom might "mooch" off the "system" versus the elite who just swindle out of greed.

/End Rant

Didn't tell me anything, I knew he was not going to be very good. The problem is always the same, choose between a liberal and a socialist.

Maybe if there was a decent choice for once the outcome would be different.

Absolutely. Bush is all the Reps had. The choice was clear. Why can't the Dems admit they made a mistake in putting either Gore or Kerry up there as competition?

You want choice? You gotta offer a working alternative.

I voted for Bush/Cheney twice, and knowing what I know now after 8 years, If they were the ones running against Obama/Obiden, I would vote Bush/ Cheney again, although I do wish it were Cheney/Bush!

And I'm tired of Bush bashing. This bailout is NOT Bush's fault. I know you want to blame everything under the sun on him. I for one am glad Bush was in office on 09/11 and not Al Gore. There is plenty of blame to go around on BOTH sides for the bailout. This all started before Bush was even in office. And like silas77, I'd vote for Bush again.

I found a website tonight that was a place where you could fill out a petition for your representatives telling them you did not want the bailout. Just as I was getting ready to click on the link to do that, I saw that the site was really just a Bush-bashing site. So I didn't use their site. I am sick of it and I'm sure lots of others are too.

Bush has done a great job, even with fighting the crooked demos every step of the way. I have no regrets voting for him twice.
You are going to hate it when you kids/grandkids bring home the History books and GWB gets high ratings.
Typical of demos, they care nothing for the country or the people, they just want their power back. If dumbo gets in, we're all is very serious trouble...
Pray it never happens

This is the way it has been for decades now: most Republicans vote for their candidate, and most Democrats for theirs. Then the swing voters (independent, etc.), sway the vote one way or the other. The people who ran against Bush could not persuade the swing voters to vote for them, so Bush won. As for me, I could not bring myself to vote for a hot air balloon (Al Gore), nor for Kerry. The lesser of two evils back then, at least for me, was Bush.

The same can be said for Bill Clinton.

Silas and Luzianne- I'm with you. It's not the last 8 years, it's been the last 2. Voting out is not good enough for Dodd, Franks and Shumer. They need to be tarred and feathered!
