The Dems must be very happy about it, after all they love spending the next generations money, they just tripled it.

I guess the only ones not happy are conservatives, the kids don't know they will be paying $30 grand a year to pay for it yet.

Come on Liberals! Where are you? you hammered W for running the deficit to a trillion but Obama running it to 5 trillion by the end of term 1 does not mean anything to you?

This appears to be solid evidence that liberals are misguided and are following the Great Obama no matter what he proposes. He cannot be wrong!

For 8 whole years in the 1990s, Repubs always claimed Bill Clinton was a communist (just like they claim Obama is now), shouting in bug-eyed hysterics "SOCIALISM!" and "MARXIST"!!

So if "Marxist communism" means smaller government, balanced budgets, federal surpluses, competent governance, and respect in the world, then what does that say about the "conservative principles" of the GOP posterboy George W. Bush and his "conservative" Republican Congress he had that helped him rack up spending and deficits?

Isn't this more proof that conservative Republicans--when you really get down to it--have no idea what they're babbling about?
First of all, those were projected surpluses, which means they were taxing Americans so much that it was "projected" that the federal government overtaxed us more then they needed for the budget, which might explain why the last year of the Clinton administration resulted in the beginning of a recession and stock market collapse.

As to the $1 trillion in debt, 0bama voted for all the bailouts and TARP. I wish to god 0bama only left us $1 trillion in debt, when:

"As estimated by CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation, the President’s proposals would add $4.8 trillion to the baseline deficits over the 2010–2019 period" - Congressional Budget Office

Bush was far from a conservative Republican. He just signed off on anything. However, the cost of 9/11, 2 wars, etc..you know the same old story that everyone has been telling you everytime you make the same sorry argument, well that is what ate up the surplus. Plus, let's take a look how old "I can't seem to keep my fly zippered" Bubba saved all his money. He spent didly squat on providing any support for gathering intellegence that would have saved us from being hit on 9/11 (thanks Billy boy). Cut our defense, in other words, did what a typical Democrat does..weakens our defenses and enables all the jihadists to have a field day killing Americans. Nice way to make money Mr. Clinton.

Bush didn't include the military spending in Iraq and Afghanistan in his budget numbers. President Obama put them in, because that's the truthful thing to do. Refreshing to have some honesty from a POTUS again.

The Raw Story | Bush 2007 budget quietly omits impact of policies on deficit

Does quadrupling the national debt by 0bama, in your mind, NOT qualify as "fiscal irresponsibility"? Ask our grandchildren in 20 years what they think, when they are still trying to pay off that debt.
