know what happens in bagdad when you throw something at the president?
american attitude towards crime is astounding.
americans deal with their criminals same way they deal with their naughty kids,
they don't.
The shoe thrower is an Egyptian who supports terrorist groups...not an Iragi.
Do you think this America-hater would've thrown a shoe at Saddam?
He's Iraqi. He works for Al-Baghdadia TV, an Iraqi-owned channel based in Cairo.
Of course he wouldnt have thrown a shoe at Saddam. You should be applauding that he felt free enough to express his feelings to the liberator of his country. Now if Bush will just speak up on his behalf about the great strides made in Iraq for freedom of speech and the wonderful new fair and humane treatment prisoners receive in custody that would be an even better promotion of Pax Americana.
His family isn't any less dead? What the heck does that mean? Do you know his family personally?
I mean that just as many people (or more) have been killed under Bush's Occupation than were killed by Saddam. You can argue specific numbers from various competing interests to prove otherwise, I'm sure. Don't bother.
The point is that almost the entire population hates Bush. They felt the same about Saddam. It appears to me that the Iraqis don't think that Bush did them much of a favor, even though they have the freedom now to be beaten for throwing shoes. It is the heighth of arrogance for you to imply that the Iraqis should be grateful that they can now throw shoes.
Do you think Bush should step up now and say something warm and fuzzy about freedom of speech and the fair and civilized justice system Iraqis now enjoy? Or al-Maliki? I think it's a great opportunity to strengthen freedom and communication, move toward transparency in the police system, etc.
The fact that he wasn't executed in public and left hanging from sunrise to sunset is a clear indicator that life in Iraq is much better than it was before Saddam was removed.
Yes, appears things are looking up over there. At least for dissenters.

Why? Because you don't want to be bothered with facts?
