Then how were they able to put up such a fight before 1967? That was before the US started plying them with money and arms.

That is true. Hitler was democratically elected too.

So the US government has no credibility and is oppressive and rightly despised by all Americans but Hamas deserves our utmost respect because they were democratically elected? Not to be curious or anything, but if that is the way you feel, why are you living here? There are many other places that you would no doubt find more suitable.

Empirical evidence of VIOLENCE BREEDS VIOLENCE exists, and that the CICLE OF VIOLENCE is a fact seen with the Israelians.
What do "numbers" have to do with right or wrong? Kill a few Jews--no big deal? After all, it's only a few.

My Jewish husband doesn't think Israel is acting correctly, either. And neither do I. But your last statement could be applied equally to extremist Palestinians, as well. My concern is that, on this forum, the Jews are being OVERWHELMINGLY demonized, while the Palestinian government is being seen as hapless victims in a war not of their own making. I find that to be extremely disturbing.

Are you sure that Hamas has "ordered" anything? One thing that all wars rely on is propaganda. The war on Iraq is a good example.

First off, you are thinking typically in an ethnocentric fashion, considering only YOUR viewpoint, not those of the Palestinians or the Muslim people in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Or what that region thinks of the neocons after we invaded Iraq and killed many more than are dying in Gaza

Yes, the U.S., government has no credibility with them, nor should it. And thanks much for your suggestions but I am very proud a gang of war criminals are headed out the door and will stick around for a while. I live in this country because I love it, just not the present government and/or its supporters.

Might be a good time to remind Iran that we are just right over the border and they best not get too far out of line.
I think they realize we have them surrounded.

My parents took all of my 5 brothers to live in Jerusalem in the 50's for 6 years. Back then everyone lived in a peaceful coexistance with one another -no friction, no animosity-, that made a great impression in my family for years to come.

However, as a family, we didn't believe such conflict going on! only until we decide to get both parts of the story and think critically for ourselves... nowdays we conden the crimes against our fellow humans, whatever nationality or religious beliefs they might uphold.

They (Hamas) will get their asses handed to them this time, I hope.

Killing every single member of Hamas will not stop the war. More Hamas leaders will just take their place. Killing and violence will not stop this war. Ever. Personally, I think:
If the organization and leadership of hamas is destroyed, that will give fatah and Abbas a chance to move in and take over.
