Please explain your vote. For example, give your positions on social issues such as abortion, same-sex marriage, drug legalization, gun control, etc.

Thank you.

I'm for welfare but only for those who truly need it. Welfare for life should only be for those with mental and medical conditions. Gay marriage,...don't really care one way or another but don't try to force a religion to conduct your marriage if they don't want to. Justice of the peace or some other religious groups are willing to take your money to marry you. I'm all for gun control. Gun control for me means having a person who can legally carry a firearm go to the shooting range for a gun safety course and practice regularly so they have perfect aim. If all people who were physically able to shoot a gun and were legal to carry a gun actually had one, there'd be a lost less crime.

I consider myself mostly liberal mainly because I strongly believe that religious moralizing has no place in government. That means gay marriage is a civil right, regardless of what some people think the bible says, and abortion is choice to be made by the woman, with input from her family, health care provider and spiritual leader. It also means that gambling is an OK way to increase state revenue, as are taxes on liquor sales. Stem cell research is an acceptable way to rid the world of infirmities. God created evolution, so let's just drop that creationism thing in the public schools, shall we? I also consider myself a Christian and am a member of a mainstream church but identify with the "religious left." That is, I believe Jesus taught us NOT to kill each other with guns and to help the poor and the sick. He also had a lot to say about tolerance and acceptance.

Abortion-Pro Life except in extreme cases, incest, rape, child or mothers life in danger or child would be born retarded or some other problem. I am also for Sterlization of certain people.

Same Sex Marriage- Totally against it.

Drugs being legal- Well with pot i see nothing wrong with it because then it could be taxed and make a profit off of it. the rest of drugs i am against.

Gun Control- Read the 2nd amendment.
