Pat Buchanan says the Pope's statement that Gaza resembles a Nazi Concentration Camp is CORRECT
PB said on tonight's McLaughlin Hour that "When you cut off 1.5 million people's food, energy, and contact with the outside world and you have human waste pilling in the streets and half of children with dysentery that does indeed resemble a concentration camp"
Buchanan never said anything about the Nazis. I believe his "concentration camp" comparison was specifically paralleled to British concentration camps in South Africa during the Boer Wars. Huge difference.
Very limited food, water, energy and 50% of the children under the age of 2 starving, it sounds like there are some similarities to a concentration camp. Although it's not exactly the same, living in Gaza, especially now must be horrific.
When's the last time you heard of a concentration camp firing rockets over the walls?
Would we have condemned people in the concentration camps for fighting back?
Both sides are completely at fault, but Israel really pushed it's luck with a constant disregard for the water and energy systems of the Gaza which hurts EVERYONE- not just the followers of Hamas. They make Hamas and the violence that it brings look like the only solution.
Would we have condemned people in the concentration camps for fighting back?
The world stood by as Jews were being slaughtered in death camps. Peaceful countries refused to accept refugees. Even now, many people are blaming Jews for what happened to them. And when Israelis are called "Nazis", and the situation in Gaza a "Holocaust", this is invariably coded language intended to say that (1) if only Hitler had been allowed to finish those pesky Jews, there wouldn't be a problem in the Middle East today; (2) Jews deserve being exterminated; or (3) the only proper role for Jews in any conflict is to be cattle-like victims. Based on all that, I think that yeah, if Jews had fired rockets from concentration camps in World War II, the world would condemn them.
