Glitch is a mirror image of the creationists who don't know what the word "theory" means. He's an evolutionist who doesn't know what the word means. Guess there have to be a few of those around.
No, Glitch is actually correct in one aspect: Evolution is complete and irrefutable fact. Or, as close to fact as science gets anyways.
So why don't we still see more of the spontaneous life popping up out of springs?
My suggestion would be that before you make statements like this that you take a class in Evolutionary Biology. There you will learn about cladogenesis, furthermore you will begin to understand that when phenotypic evolution does occur that it is localized in rare, rapid events.

I absolutely do believe in science, thank you very much. I just don't believe that science has ever provided any credible evidence for evolution, nor can they, and I believe evolution is a hoax.
Do you realize how many times the same processes would have to have been miraculously (perhaps a bad choice of words in this case) recreated for the same organ (an eyeball for example) to "evolve" in all the many different species? What are the chances of that. Unless you're going to tell me that everything "evolved" from one species.
Sorry. I'm not buying it. Evolution is just plain ridiculous. That's all.
Irreducible complexity. We have a clear line of evolution for the eyeball. We can see it evolve step by step.
Evolution is also a theory. Theory is not a dirty word. It simply means an idea or group of ideas that cogently and satisfactorily explains why certain phenomena exist (in this case, the diversity of life). As used by scientists, the word theory is actually the strongest imprimatur that can be given for the validity of a set of ideas. The theory of gravitation is a theory because it satisfactorily explains why objects move the way they do. But gravitation (or gravity) is also a fact.
Lay people use the word theory in a different way than scientists do. Lay people say "theory" when they actually mean "conjecture" or "hypothesis". A conjecture or hypothesis is an idea that has not been validated by empirical evidence. When someone says "911 was a Zionist plot" or that "Bigfoot exists", those are not theories in the scientific sense. They are conjectures.
Of course, no amount of empirical validation of the theory of evolution will convince you if you are a narcissist who believes that you were specially created by your deity. Accepting the validity of the ToE is tantamount to humbling yourself - putting yourself in your rightful place - as an insignificant speck in the cosmos.
Nothing like posting a bunch of non-sequiturs when you don't have anything intelligent or meaningful to say...
Back in the Fall I had a very similar discussion with BigJon3475, and I tried to educate him on the subject. Some people just can't comprehend science.

In almost 400 post there is plenty of informative information. People who step in on the last page and go yeah! very clearly show they didn't read the thread at all...
