Socialized medicine's finer qualities do not come from taxes. What private American medical insurance executive is going to donate their own money to by an MRI machine for the local hospital?

So the charity that we see in Canada that gives us the edge is voluntary - America is actually more of a capitalist socialist nation. They tax the rich but the rich do not like to give voluntarily. As I mentioned...because medicine is so profit motivated, wealthy people would like to give but won't because the money will end up not in the hands of those who need it but in the hands of those who constantly want more.

It might be a case of class...Our super wealthy take pride in donating to hospitals and research..and in the buying of up to date equipment.

How can you change the mentality in America where powerful medical insurance companies simply do not want to move over. It is not the working person that is blocking socialized medical care...It's the companies that thrive - not on illness but the avoidance of illness. American insurance companies will pay for things of minor cost but as soon as it is serious and becomes expensive they renege.

So you pay into a system that does not guarantee universal care. Why are private corporations in control of a citizens health care? Should it not be the medical profession? It's like going into a room seeking medical assistance and there are two people in the room who make the decision on care...One is a doctor and one is a banker.......The banker should not be in the equation but the banker seems to always trump the doctor.
you just do not get it the american government was not set up to take care of the people. It was set up so that a person could have the opportunity to do it on there own. I do not think there should be any Welfare at all NON

(life expectancy) has been debunked a dozen times

the usa ranked 36. a LE of 78.8

the highest is japan at 82.6

the difference between us and france ....1.6 year

the difference between us and canada.....1.6 year

the difference between us and germany...a HALF a year

the differnce between us and the untied kingdom...4 months

life expectance is more about genetics and life style, than health care

we have a longer life expectancy than them as a whole

the number one place for life expectancy of asian women....USA

not to mention that life expectancy is more about genetics and LIFE STYLES (ie hamhocks, fried twinkies, and fried chicken, mcdonalds, fatbacks certainly dont help)

most other places..they walk/bike
most other places dont have 4 tv's to a house

posting about life expectancy..means actually very little to medicine

difference between us and the highest is....3.5 years ...is that realivily low (79yrs-82yrs)

and the reason...

is not health care

its....

LIFE STYLE (especially EATING, and EXERCISE), and democraphics (ethnics)
demographics, to include eating habits, GENES, TEEN PREGNANCIES, traffic, cancer, etc..ALL effect those numbers

yes I said traffic accidents....you think that the 2x amount of traffic accidents (of the world) is NOT going to lower the top level???

btw

asians have the HIGHEST life span...and FEMALE ASIAN AMERICANS have the highest life expectancy IN THE WORLD

its demographics

if you compared country "A" to country "B"...and said "A" has an average age of 38..and "B" has an average age of 51...which country do you think would be more PRODUCTIVE and HEALTHY

its the demographics

its like the life expectancy list

the USa has an AVERAGE life expectacny of 78.8-78.9 (number 30 something on the list)

but if you break it down further

in the USA, the asian american female has a life expectancy of 86(the HIGHEST in the WORLD)......(((higher than the 82 in the actual country of japan)))
...........whites are around 83...........hispanics around 76............and blacks have a LOW LIFE expectacy around 66m/68f.............giving us the AVERAGE of 78.9.............if you took the (12-15% population) of blacks off that list.........we would have one of the top three life expectancies in the world....

demographics (and their LIFE STYLE and GENETICS) plays BIG ROLES

funny japan is higher than any of the european countries...in life expectancy..and the 3rd lowest in infant mortality....connected...hmmmmm....certainly genetic

we also have the HIGHEST teen pregnancy ...which leads to low baby weight, and high infant mortality.....and the hightest DEMOGRAPHIC with teen pregancies...the african americans (especially southern AA)

life expectancy is not about health care.. but about healthy living.....too bad the liberhaddists dont understand that
I don't doubt that lifestyle and diet play parts in this. But consider this. The American diet in general is quite poor compared to many nation around the world. Consider this. The average cuisine found in Japan is much healthier than what is found in the USA. In the USA, alot of people eat food that is of dubious quality, not just Blacks.

However, there is something you do not address. Blacks tend to be poorer than everyone else in the USA, aside from Native Americans. The poor tend to have less access to decent healthcare. Basically, the poor eat similar things to the middle class Americans. However, the poor tend to have less access to decent healthcare. West Virginia is one of the poorest states in the USA. It has one of the lowest life expectancies in the USA. It is also one of the Whitest states in the USA. The less access you have to good healthcare, the more likely you are to live a short life.
