I've noticed this myself over the last few days. The reporting has been very one-sided.

The "Liberal media" is a rightwing invention. The run up to the Iraq war proved this.

"the five cable news networks — CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Fox Business and CNBC — have hosted more Republican lawmakers to discuss the plan than Democrats by a 2 to 1 ratio this week"

MSNBC? But-but-but-

how can we be victims if the lying liberal media is actually...fair and balanced?

Oh not to worry, we can always play Scared 'n' Angry in our cozy Fox cocoon.

Yeah. And MSNBC is supposed to be the liberal answer to Fox News. MSNBC - the network that has 3 hours of Scarborough and 2 hours split between Olbermann and Maddow (and Maddow only recently). That's the liberal media for you.

There are other links on this sub-forum that have proven that about 80% of the MSM votes Democrat. All you have to do is a search here, or Google it on the internet.

Of course, blind worshipers of the liberal left are not going to believe the facts anyway, so there's not really any point in discussing it.

"There are other links on this sub-forum that have proven that about 80% of the MSM votes Democrat."

So 80% vote Democrat. So what? Is there supposed to be a problem there? They can vote any way they damn well please. I don't care if 100% vote Democrat

They can also run their newspapers and TV stations etc any way they damn please too. I'm sick of this whining about the "liberal media" Go start your own newspapers

I've posted the links, and had Democrats immediately say, "That doesn't prove ANYTHING."

If course YOU don't care - because they're lying and slanting the news in the direction YOU want.

But you won't hesitate to scream and whine about FoxNews...

Does it NOT bother you that the American media has become a Propaganda Ministry? How can that NOT bring to you a sense of foreboding?

Main stream media is "corporate media"; Liberal media is a myth that is still perpetuated by the ignorant and dim witted.

There may be liberals in MSM just as there may be some conservatives but the outlets themselves could care less about political slants.

Does MSNBC promote a liberal agenda such as poverty, human rights, civil liberties, etc... No, they don't. Then again Fox isn't a conservative outlet either, I mean when was the last time Fox did a series promoting smaller government or personal liberties issues of traditional conservatives?

The only outlet I can think at this moment that is on satellite and a handful of cable channels that is actually "liberal media" is LINK TV.org

From the top 10 most censored stories in 2000

From June 1999 to March 2000 military specialists in "psychological operations" worked in CNN's Southeast TV bureau and radio division
News Release: Project Censored Announces Top Ten Censored Stories for 2000

Here is a better example

Quote:
The U.S. government felt that foreign press coverage was so out of control that it became necessary to permanently create a new International Public Information Group (IPI), made up of top military, diplomatic, and intelligence officials, to coordinate U.S. resources to "influence the emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of foreign governments, organizations, groups, and individuals." (Washington Times 7/28/99) This new IPI organization will attempt to squelch or limit uncomplimentary stories regarding U.S. activities and policies reported in the foreign press. IPI is de facto censorship as it will use governmental resources to repress foreign news stories that may reach the American public.

However, if you do not care for the source then check out what the government itself has to say on this matter.

STRATEGIC INFLUENCE OPERATIONS - THE INFORMATION CONNECTION

Quote:
Control of the informational environment at the strategic level has always been the critical
requirement for our national leaders. These efforts underscore all others in importance at the
domestic level and internationally during time of crisis. Various administrations have attempted
to consolidate strategic information into a concise and executable strategy through various
presidential directives, National Security Decision Directives (NSDD’s), Presidential Decision
Directives (PDD’s) and most recently, National Security Presidential Directives (NSPD’s).
Numerous government entities, to include the White House (Executive Office of the President –
EOP), National Security Council (NSC), Departments of State, Defense, Justice, the Central
Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and most recently, the White House’s
Office of Global Communication (OGC) and Homeland Security, have attempted to establish
mechanisms to develop, coordinate, synchronize and execute a proactive multi-dimensional
information capability,

but to no avail.
Sounds like if the media were "liberally biased" they wouldn't be actively promoting the US governments agenda would they?
