I can tell you exactly why,
I consider myself a successful "minority" because I have a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Once a graduated I started working in the "Blue collar" World in the city where I thought people were less racist than where I lived before in the Ozarks.

I was completely wrong,
to put it in few words... this is what one of my co-workers posted in the office board, keep in mind that 20 people were white and 2 of us were hispanic.

How to destroy America
(by Colorado republican ex-governor Richard Lamm)
How to Destroy America: A Speech by Colorado Governor Richard Lamm | redblueamerica.com

Here's just a section of it, that it's insulting even to Native Americans:

Lamm continued on how to destroy America, “Invent ‘multiculturalism’ and encourage immigrants to maintain their own culture. I would make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal. That there are no cultural differences! I would make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.”

“Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50 percent dropout rate from high school.”

Is it that Democrats have a vested interest in pointing out more racism than there really is, or that Republicans have a vested interest in covering up as much racism as possible?

Probably somewhere in between that.

I do not find this speech racist as there is a lot of truth in what the speaker said. He was describing the tactics that influential leftists have used to try and undermine our society. "Multiculturalism" and "Institutional racism" are concepts that were invented and promoted by many leftist educators and are not right-winged concepts by the way. These two concepts alone have done so much in undermining our society as it promotes mistrust and separatism instead of unity. I am all for respecting diversity but not at the expense of unity, which is what our divided nation so desperately needs now.

I find the article extremely racist. The promise of amercia is that here you can be yourself and not be dicriminated against. That article is basically saying that people coming here and don't lose their culture and forget where they are coming from is destroying america. Many have been complaining about immigrants for more than a hundred years whether it was the Irish, Italians, Jews, and today the Hispanics. All of the previous immigrant migrations in the enf proved to only add to america. That is the truth so the current anti immigration movement is based on the same principles that have proven false in the past. Just another racist group in a different time. If this article speaks truth to you then you no what you are.

The simple answer is because so MANY conservatives are obsessed with keeping racism alive and kicking. Liberals being generally of a anti-racist sort labor under the belief that fighting racism is the hallmark of a progressive society. Next question?

What specifically did you find racist about that speech? Do you know what multiculturalism actually is? Hint, it has nothing to do with having an appreciation of different cultures. What are your thoughts on the concept of institutional racism? Do you feel that people can get ahead in this country by playing the victim role? Do you feel that we should be promoting cultural division in this country versus cultural unity? These were some of the issues that the speaker was raising in the speech. I'd like to read your thoughts on these issues.

How many conservatives do you know personally by the way? Are the conservatives you know PERSONALLY obsessed with keeping racism alive and kicking or is that a stereotype you have bought hook, line and sinker from the liberal media?

Don't talk down to me as if I don't understand. I was born and raised here and have an education. I don't have to abandon my families culture and that is my right as an american. Appreciation and acceptance are two different things one is racist and one isn't.
