Whatever he meant may have gotten him assassinated by people who dont agree, and are doing the opposite. I remember hearing he wanted to end the FED or investigate them. Something along those lines, but is just a cray cray theory.

But it has to be provided. You cannot create your own work. Work implies being hired, some kind of relationship. Even starting your own business means you are working for your debtors trying to pay them back for capital they loaned you. Once you have a business someone must need your service or product.

France left NATO in 1966, and US bases in France were closed, the French didn't return to NATO until 2009.

In terms of Vietnam, it was a mess and the US should have known this from British and French experiences in the region.

He meant that you have to have an active role in making your country and society a better place to live, not expecting great things to come your way without working for them. And that means liberty and justice, not just “work hard to aquire more stuff”.

ho chi minh tried to get into the 1919 peace treaty talks and he could not..in 1941 FDR proposed the Atlantic Charter to do away with colonialism, aimed mostly at England,, again ho chi minh tirned away by US this time..
(when France has surrendered to Germany the Vichy french welcomed the Japanese as conquerors the very next day)
English troops were closer so they used them as occupation forces till the french arrived and because of the rebellion in Indochina EVEN some Japanese troops were rearmed..this all happened in the 1940s and 50s

NATO started in 1955, France asked for our support to reinstate colonialism for their joining NATO

France was broke from ww2

there is a famous video clip of LBJ being questioned about Vietnam and him saying "hell i did not get you into Vietnam, youve been there ten years" 1964 or 65

Unlike Trump, who is the oldest POTUS ever, Kennedy was the youngest ever.

Unlike Trump, who is only helping his own, Kennedy formed the Peace Corps (which virtually eradicated malaria in Africa).

Unlike Trump, which is edging the US towards nuclear war with the DPRK, Kennedy averted nuclear war with the USSR.

Lots more where this comes from.
And biden choose to play football, rather then serve his country.
Kennedy the youngest president.....Trump the oldest......but biden is the one that is senile....and everyone knows it. Trump passed mental test with flying colors.....biden refuses to take the test.
What has biden accomplished in the 40 years, that we have been paying him
Kennedy was no saint either, we just didn`t know what was going on back then.
