What do you think McCain/Palin would have done differently if they had won?

I am looking for a good debate in this thread without the name calling please.

What do you all think? I mean, Republicans are going on and on about how Obama is a failure. Can the Republicans on this forum tell me what McCain/Palin would have done differently?

The way I see it, whoever won was screwed either which way. This is for sure a tough situation.

Thanks in advance.

Agreed. LoL.

But I am curious as to what the Republicans will say seeing it as they watch Obamas every move like a Hawk!

well we know the spending would be high, that is unavoidable with either party.

Both would have been faced with bail out plans. I doubt McCains would have looked any diff. maybe spending more.

Bush made a mess so either would have been faced with a clean up.

You'd have more optimism, at least. More targeted effective stimulus with less spending and certainly no "Use this crisis to push an agenda while ignoring the crisis". His cabinet wouldn't stink on ice like Obama's does. Then again, the democrat leadership in the house and senate would be so obstructionist and hostile they'd make Rush Limbaugh look bipartisan.
More tax cuts. Less pork spending. Less diversionary agendas. Less fear and more reform. McCain wouldn't be the absolute disaster Obama is shaping up to be, but he'd at least have 4 years where he'd slow down our descent and be open to getting somebody in who could actually turn things around.

Who knows what policies would be in place, but we wouldn't have a leader standing up preaching that we're all doomed unless we allow the government to start writing blank checks. All we hear about is how everything is terrible and will get worse unless Obama gets his way, because he knows best.

And if we disagree, we're racist or we want the US to fail.

At least we wouldn't have every single appointment to the administration able to be brought up on federal tax evasion charges. Or a tax cheat running the fed.

We'd also have people calling him on his lies if he said one thing to get into office, and immediately did the opposite. Obama's done just that (no earmarks?) and everyone's so enamored with him that they just overlook it.

I don't think McCain would have done anything differently. He would have been presented with the same or a very similar stimulus bill. Given the state of the economy, he most likely would have signed it to prevent things from getting worse.

I agree that Obama's use of fear to gain the public's support has been disappointing so far. But, false optimism ("the fundamentals of our economy are strong") is just as bad.

A tax cheat is running the fed? Ben Bernanke? Are you sure? Bush appointed him.

I'm also very disappointed in some of Obama appointments, but not "every single appointment" is being accused of tax evasion.

I honestly don't think we'd be in any better shape. Whoever was elected had to do something, and had to do it fast. McCain has no more financial acumen than Obama and, at 72, is a much slower study.

As far as making poor choices for cabinet and high level appointees, McCain clearly demonstrated his standard level by his choice of a running mate. So, no points earned there.

I will grant you that Republican thieves are far more adept at hiding their thievery than are their Democrat counterparts. Failing to pay your taxes??!!
