This AM, Senator Bayh announces new Moderate Dem Working group who aim to reduce the proposed planned spending. This group could veto spending bills such as Cap and Trade, the 2010 budget, etc.

Some great news for fiscal conservatives this morning....
Sen. Evan Bayh announced a coalition of 15 moderate Democratic senators interested in a centrist alternative to Harry Reid's agenda in the Senate.....
He and his colleagues will be holding a press conference later today, and already they've heard from White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, who asked if he could join them.

Rahm wants to join them? Does he realize they are going to far to the left? Is it possible

Right, reduced spending by way of protecting their own interests and taking money away from someone else.

How, I ask, is offering student loans directly to students a bad thing, especially when it reduces the carrying charges and so forth that the students have to pay?
Well, it's a bad thing when the company that now provides the loans, and is still subsidized by the government, by the way, is in your state:

"Nelson objects to the Obama budget because it calls for moving to direct lending for student loans, saving billions in subsidies to banks and using that money to pay for increased grant aid. Nelnet, a leading student lender, will be hit badly by the change. Its headquarters happen to be in Nebraska."

These people go to the top of the hypocrisy watch list today.

Yeah, like that's really gonna do anygood. They should focus on a reduction of government itself and the wages government employees get. Those employees should be voluntary, as a privilege of serving me. And you, of course.

I agree. Bayh is a great guy. During the primaries, he was my first choice for president for 2008, followed by Mark Warner, then Barack Obama.

A centrist Democrat is a MILLION times better than any Republican.
