‘Small crowd’ on street corner greets Bush in Florida, while block-long line of people camp out for Obama in LA.

Today, President Bush is attending a private fundraiser in Jacksonville, FL, to gin up support for his $300 million (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/010908dnmetbushlibrary.15b1bcf.html - broken link) presidential library. At the luncheon, Bush also planned to speak about the economy and “thank local Republicans for their support (http://www.miamiherald.com/news/florida/AP/story/957772.html - broken link).” Local CBS affiliate WTEV-TV broadcast from outside the venue for the event today, showing a few people standing on a street corner to greet the former president. The reporter called it a “small crowd.” Watch it:

Bush? He's history. '08's news.

Me, I'm focused on the present and future.

The present being somewhat comical if not disheartening and the future being somewhat of a challange to continue my on-going prosperity.

I'm not worried. I'm confident that I'll do well with or in spite of those grandstanding incompetents in DC.

You would like forget what an utter failure his presidency was wouldn't you. I think its in our best interest to remember just how poor republicans are at actually governing..

Why can't some people just accept that Obama has ushered in a new era in America that we ALL need? Obama brings a new chance for American greatness.

Bitter pills abound, no doubt!

Yes as opposed to whom on the Democrat side? Bahney Fwank? Nancy Pelosi? Harry Reid? Chris Dodd? I guess you mean Tim Geithner?

Funny how the only Democrats to be President in the last 40 years prior to Obama were Jimmy Carter who was a total and utter failure in every way a President can be a failure, and Bill Clinton, who when he wasn't dealing with his own physical urges was moving to the right and supporting things like NAFTA, welfare reform, deregulation of banks and the repeal of Glass-Steagall, and a balanced budget.

Haven't forgotten any of his failures. Many things seem to be being repeated as we post.

The only change we got was different uniforms.

Unlike the Obamatons, I don't wear political blinders.

If you're calling what we're seeing out of the administration, House and Senate majorities "governing", well, like I said, I'm confident in my ability to prosper in spite of who's running the show and fleecing us for all they can get.

The Anti-Obamas can dish it but can't take it. There is a serious lack of ability to accept responsibility on their part. Can't admit to their failures and shortcomings.

Obama has been very open about the fact that he is willing to acknowledge when he makes a mistake. This is such a refreshing attitude considering that the Republicans have refused to apologize for the past administrations fallings and want to blame a man who has been in office for 58 days for the failures of the past 8 years.

Not at all. I for one believe that both parties had a hand in the problems we now face, and President Bush made quite a few mistakes in his 8 years. Criticism of Obama doesn't mean that Republicans were perfect, and it doesn't imply that anyone "can't take it."

What I can't take is this urge on the part of some to rewrite history to fit their politics, where they conveniently forget all the past sins of Democrats and decide that "it was all the fault of Republicans." That's just incorrect and is due either to ignorance or a desire for partisanship at the expense of truth.
