Steele To GOP: "We Lost Our Minds"

|
AP March 23, 2009 9:10 AM

LITTLETON, Colo. - Republicans better stop whining and start thinking of new electoral strategies to return to prominence, the new head of the Republican National Committee said Friday.

"I'm tired of seeing the same old, same old," RNC Chairman Michael Steele told about 750 Republicans at a party dinner in suburban Denver. "I'm tired of hearing the same old arguments. I'm tired of hearing the complaining." Steele, who took the helm of the GOP at the beginning of the year, said Republicans must stop complaining about ruling Democrats if they are to recover with voters.

"If you want to complain and moan and groan about everything going on," Steele said, "there's the door."Steele was frank about why Republicans did so badly in elections nationwide last fall.

Steele doesn't have a clue about what's wrong with the party. I sincerely wish that it would go out of existence and be replaced by a Conservative party.

Steele is oh so right in this case. All the GOP has been doing since their last two election defeats has been whining and obstructing. They have no plans, no ideas, and no solutions. Steele is honestly the first GOP leader to admit this uncomfortable truth and he's dead right; unless the GOP actually man's up and offers something realistic and positive they won't win because they won't deserve to win.

You mean Michelle "you-be-da-man" Bachmann?

Steele has already come out as pro-choice on abortion. He also said that being gay is as innate as being black. He's revealed himself to be an intelligent guy. I don't know how he'll survive as the GOP Chairman.

Republicans are anemic & confused. Watch Hannity some night [if you can stomach it the foaming at the mouth anger of a disturbed zealot. Today it was revealed that the GOP minority whip\ Eric Kantor was given "contributions" by the very banks he claimed to crooks. [To be fair, Democrats also took $ from the banks ].

It's pretty bad when John McCain's daughter is making the round of TV shows where she bashes the GOP nightly. Meghan McCain told Larry King that young Republicans are angry with Limbaugh\ O'Reilly & are embarrassed to have these unstable personalities mislead the Bible Belt sheep into believing that God wants the Dick Cheney to be president the leader of the cabal

The republicans became lost when they turned their backs on what it is to be republican. Small gov, fiscal responsibility, and country first. Now they try to portray themselves as warm and fuzzy cuddle bears who believe in liberal values. The truth is sometimes fiscal responsibility means just that. If you don't have the cash don't spend it.

After the plans and ideas of this administration the Republicans could win with a platform of no plans and no ideas.

It is kind of entertaining watching the GOP in action. It's like seeing mice in a maze...
