Semantics...nothing more, your choosing to focus on the word not the deed.

If you see the word "homosexuals" in an English Bible, it's a mistranslation. It started to become popular after the word was first used in a 1946 English translation of the Revised Standard Version.

Here's a well referenced paper on The Uniting Church of Australia's website: Considering the often cited biblical texts on homosexuality. (http://fou.uniting.com.au/texts.html - broken link)

So when someone claims that their Bible says homosexuality is a sin but clearly has done no research on this issue, then I have to question what sort of "love" they claim. It's not "love" if you aren't willing to spend even a little time examining the basis for your own prejudice before condemning someone else.

There's a joke here for Christians who believe in the "Word".

Oh...so you believe that all homosexuals practice the "deed" of ritual sex in pagan temples? Well why didn't you say so? No wonder you are confused.

I don't know any gay people who do that "deed", do you?

Yikes! You need to do some research on logical fallacies. Your arguments in this thread reek of them. Start with "argumentum ad populum," "argumentum ad antiquitatem," "consensus gentium," "reductio ad absurdum," and "argumentum ad numerum." These will at least get you started.

Does it really change anything? Will gay people love thier partner more? It seems like gay people dont care about shoving thier lifestyle down everyones throat. Because they are gay, everyone who is not MUST accept it 100%?
Sorry but you just revealed yourself as lacking education. Your words are essentially nothing more than graffiti & exhibit ignorance. That is who you are, now let the nation proceed in dealing with others with respect. You can stay home & sit in front of your TV watching the 700 Club

Why dont you read the "Constitution", and do a wiki search on "democracy" and "majority rules", and then get back to me after you understand..thanks

It's not, however. This country isn't majority rules. The majority can vote on a variety of issues, but again, the majority cannot discriminate against others. Such was the case with the civil rights movement in the 1960s, such is the case now.

Really? Tell that to the smokers who's been consistantly discriminated against by the majority for 30 years, yet the majority could care less. The cost of cigarettes has gone up nearly 400% in the past 15 years. 20% of the US population smokes as opposed to 3% of the population bieng gay.
