My guess is that rape stats are alot lower than here.Its the extreme opposite of our justive system which often is a revolving door for even violent offenders.

One of the concerns in a Muslim country like this is all the laws are based on Islamic law. The man who raped a woman and is now being put to death for it, didn't wrong the woman, he wronged her husband or her Father, whatever male is in charge of her life.

I should imagine the woman is no longer considered clean or something to that effect.
