More trouble to the "former top official" I'm sure is the apparent prospect of standing trial for breaking our laws against mistreatment of prisoners.

When bureaucrats protest the release of information because of security they are generally worried about their own security not the Nations. Another CYA manuver.

It's not like the prisoners that have been released haven't reported back about their mistreatment. The Republicans have classified this to keep it from the American public.
