Ahhhhhhh............ you were on the prosecuting or the defense?

I know a few people that have been raped and it's destroyed their lives. I'm back and forth on the issue, but it at least deserves a mandatory life sentence without parole.

Clearly you did NOT read the post correctly. It says MURDERERS are given probation in TEXAS.

Didn't stop him from the first murder. Life in prison without the possibility of parole ever will also "deter" him from ever killing again.

At least with the DP as it is now, John has a motivation for not killing Suzie after the rape. But if he could get it for rape alone, why wouldn't he kill her? She couldn't report the rape OR the murder then.
Good point!

Yes, I said he is severely mentally ill, which is the same as deranged. Having no conscience is a symptom of antisocial personality disorder. IMHO, we should not execute the mentally ill, the intellectually challenged or juveniles.
People who kill children are considered scum by most prison inmates; his life expectancy would probably be no longer than Jeffrey Dahmer's was. The death penalty has not been proven to be a deterrent to those who have not murdered anyone. People seem to have missed the link regarding the number of people wrongfully convicted, which was my second point.

Death penalty not a better crime deterrent than a prison sentence - Opinion

Do you guys have the death penalty in MO.? How many people on death row?
I have never heard of the death penalty for anything except first degree murder. Sorry. It's not first degree murder. He didn't plan it (or if he did, there is no proof of that, that I am aware of). Maybe he did plan it, but somebody is going to have to prove this in order for it to be a capital offense. Sorry, I don't make the laws. And I'm sure that Florida is no exception.

Please!

Again, do you have the death penalty in MO? If so, how many people are on death row in MO.? Do you work murder cases?

In Florida there are lots of "snitches" in the jails who would glady testify that the guy told them that he had really wanted to get the baby out of his life for months, yada, yada. Also, there is a time factor in re "intention."

We have about 400 people on death row in Florida.
