On Monday, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said that he believed the Republican party is in “deep trouble,” “getting smaller,” and being led by polarizing figures (http://www.nationaljournal.com/congressdaily/print_friendly.php?ID=cda_20090505_8843 - broken link) like Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) and Rush Limbaugh.

Powell said further that the party must realize that “Americans do want to pay taxes for services.”

Why can't Republicans stand to hear the truth?

They would rather listen to the irrational ranting rhetoric of a fat junkie and take it as the Republican Gospel according Limbaugh.

You called Anne Coulter a coke w**re and Limbaugh a fat junkie, all within the span of 20 minutes. Why is this acceptable? Did your parents teach you that it was okay to call people those hateful names?

It's really not funny, it's a sad commentary on the lack of civility in this country. The young generation in this country really saddens me, and I'm only 36. The stuff that you write is plain awful.

Cool!

Yes, Rush, please throw everybody out who doesn't agree with you. That's a great way to ensure that the Democratic Party will continue to thrive.

It certainly validates Powell statement that Rush is a polarizing figure. Who would have known?

The Republican party would be better off without the Rino Powell. I respect his military service but I'm sick and tired of his preaching his liberals views to Republicans. He should just join the Democratic party already and shut up!

And HOW is the Republican party better off without Colin Powell?

Did he lose his sparkle when he wouldn't follow GWB's stupidity or wouldn't turn a blind eye to the massive issues facing the Rep party? The inability to accept ANY critcism is the doenfal of the Repubs.

If someone doesn't agree with Big (Fat) Brother Rush...they are banished from Republican land. How dare anyone question the divine (drug induced) wisdom and awe that is Rush Limbaugh.
