It worked for many years and we created a superpower in this world. It has ups and downs. Happens all the time and we have always got better. This is nothing new that has not happened in the past and we came out stronger then before. I am worried that is not going to happen this time. It is an attack on capitalist and bring in socialism. Its now dont worry about improving your life or pushing to be better. Dont worry you dont have to the gov will provide for you.

Yes, thanks to some 50 years of primarily Democrat party control, American has been growing increasingly socialist. That is because socialism creates dependency on the government, and gives government power over the people -- of which the Democrats want and need in order to stay relevant.
No system is perfect, but socialism is far less perfect than capitalism! If the country goes socialist (as Obama's plans call for) then America will be a different country. The America we all knew will have failed.
