proves the flaws in the story and the OP comments.
The biggest fall for Republicans took place after 2005, when Bush turned from a fiscally conservative and caved into numerous social programs. Not at all anywhere near the "Limbaugh", or Coulter right wing stance.

Interesting to see that it took Republicans from 2004-2009 to lose 20% of their identified supporters, but it only took Democrats 3 months to lose the same, Dec 08 through April 09)
