Maybe you missed this post by another member:
For anyone interested, there is a legitimate scientific reason to conduct the research in the "lab" of Argentina's gay bars, rather than in the U.S., where learning about venue-based interventions would be more difficult because these types of interventions are more common here. The researchers needed a place where it is less common and somewhat "new" to see better what actually works to change behaviors.
And why would you ask about Barney Frank? He's not involved with NIH.

Why Argentina?
BTW, where is Barney Frank on this issue?
Again, I invite you to read the abstract, which answers that question.
CRISP - Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects, Abstract Display (http://crisp.cit.nih.gov/crisp/CRISP_LIB.getdoc?textkey=7620532&p_grant_num=1R21A A018075-01&p_query=(argentina+%26+HIV)&ticket=93861567&p_a udit_session_id=463866777&p_audit_score=56&p_audit _numfound=3&p_keywords=argentina+HIV - broken link)

This study was funded under the Bush Administration, and as far as I know, Frank was not involved in NIH appropriations for individual research programs. Although you may know more than I...

You keep using "promiscuity" as if it's unique to homosexual men. Again, I'll mention unwanted pregnancies and the millions of fetuses that are aborted every year. They don't occur because of homosexual sex.
Promiscuity is the primary domain of the homosexual male.

Craigslist male ISO male ads prove why HIV affects gay men disproportionately.

Whatever you say, Lucky.

And aborted fetuses are the primary domain of the heterosexual world.

Craigslist male ISO female ads prove why millions of unborn babies are killed every year in this country.

(No offense to my hetero friends here - and there are many. I'm just fighting lunacy with lunacy. )

It's absurd....completely absurd, and I have contacted my congressman. Who cares!!! If people do not have sense enough to wear a condom...then it's their fault. There are way too many issues to deal with than homosexuality and AIDS prevention, and yes, I was furious when Bush spent the tax payers dollar in Africa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's very sensitive of you.

It's not always about just "having sense enough" to wear a condom. There's often underlying issues that contribute to having unprotected sex - drug use, depression, loneliness, etc. It's a good idea to try to understand how and why people get into situations where they're putting themselves and others at risk.

It's not insensitive of me to expect someone to use common sense, regardless of their state-of-mind.

Yah and the straight Male for female adds or female for male adds, dwarf the gay ones by comparison. I think you have some kind of sick attraction to homosexuality. You need to see a psychiatrist asap.
