The government will have to borrow nearly 50 cents for every dollar it spends this year, exploding the record federal deficit past $1.8 trillion under new White House estimates. Budget office figures released Monday would add $89 billion to the 2009 red ink — increasing it to more than four times last year's all-time high.......

US to borrow 46 cents for every dollar spent (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2009/05/11/national/w063138D15.DTL&feed=rss.news - broken link)

Haven't yet read your links but....

this is exactly the type of thing people were rallying against at the Tea Parties. People are outraged over govt spending and debt. Yet the majority of the media, people on this forum, etc. ridiculed those who were calmly speaking their voice. They also tried to divert the focus of the issue by crying out claims of racism.

Ask yourself WHY would the media/policiticians/the White House/etc. ridicule and try to ignore those speaking out against govt spending and debt?

They don't want people to be informed. They want to work their agenda and for the sheep (citizens) to quietly and unknowingly go along.

WHY are there not more people speaking out against the debt and spending?
If you pay taxes, you should be considered.
If you don't pay taxes - not so sure you have a right to demand more debt/spending since you are not footing the bill. However, you should still be concerned. For instance, Cap and Trade will be a cost to everyone.

BTW, talked to a gal and told her the Tea Party people were speaking out against govt spending. I said "How will we pay for all this spending". Her reply "The government will pay for it". She had no clue that the govt got their money from We The People via taxes.

Ironically, its this borrowing/spending that liberals rightly objected to under Bush (ignoring the fact that a lot of the spending was for liberal programs of course), but now support under Obama...

As the economy performs worse than expected, the deficit for the 2010 budget year beginning in October will worsen by $87 billion to $1.3 trillion, the White House says.

Where are the Democrats to proclaim that the economy is getting better?

They're working on it. They are cutting 1/2 of 1% from the budget, missile defense and stuff like that.

Try not to sound to logical. This is CD forum and you will be rideculed by the leftists. Most people in this nation could not name the capital of California. In fact I would say many people in California do not know the capital of California. And you expect them to know where the government gets money?
