White House Czar Calls for End to 'War on Drugs' - WSJ.com
Quote:
The Obama administration's new drug czar says he wants to banish the idea that the U.S. is fighting "a war on drugs," a move that would underscore a shift favoring treatment over incarceration in trying to reduce illicit drug use.

Who pays for the treatment?
Drug addiction is 100% self inflicted with the exception of children born from drug addict mothers.
I have no mercy in my heart for those dumb enough to get involved with drugs.
Let them rot from the poison of their choice.

FINALLY-The "War" on drugs is an utter disaster. It accomplished NOTHING except more lives lost, over crowded prisons and an incredible draining of our tax dollars.

As long as pot is legalized....I'm happy.
I won't smoke it but I see no reason why people can't enjoy it just like they enjoy alcohol.
Provided the FDA get more money to do their jobs 100%, I'd be happy to see the FDA regulate it.

That's right, legalize pot...it's good for the country and smoking a bowl now and then puts things into perspective.

I concur! This may not be full on legalization but this opens the doors for States that want to go that route such as Cali and Mass

Oh and it's funny that Gil decides to go this route a week after this
Norm Stamper: Open Letter to the New "Drug Czar" from Another Top Cop: End the Drug War

makes me wonder if he got the letter and took it to heart.

Stamper was the police chief in Seattle immediately before Kerilowske, so his opinion would have some influence.
