The Obama administration's new drug czar says he wants to banish the idea that the U.S. is fighting "a war on drugs," a move that would underscore a shift favoring treatment over incarceration in trying to reduce illicit drug use.
Who pays for the treatment?
Drug addiction is 100% self inflicted with the exception of children born from drug addict mothers.
I have no mercy in my heart for those dumb enough to get involved with drugs.
Let them rot from the poison of their choice.
Definitely a step in the right direction. Hopefully harm reduction and legalization of marijuana, at the very least moving pot from Schedule 1 to Schedule 3, will be next. Remember it took a great deal of baby steps and a groundswell of public opinion to get rid of Prohibition entirely.
FINALLY-The "War" on drugs is an utter disaster. It accomplished NOTHING except more lives lost, over crowded prisons and an incredible draining of our tax dollars.
As long as pot is legalized....I'm happy.
I won't smoke it but I see no reason why people can't enjoy it just like they enjoy alcohol.
Provided the FDA get more money to do their jobs 100%, I'd be happy to see the FDA regulate it.

That's right, legalize pot...it's good for the country and smoking a bowl now and then puts things into perspective.

I concur! This may not be full on legalization but this opens the doors for States that want to go that route such as Cali and Mass
