I wouldn’t choose either. Both are disastrous for America.
I agreed with this for a while until I really looked into it. I could not find a reason why, not religiously speaking, that it would hurt for any two people to have a union that let them be privvy to what ever it is married people are privvy to. Illegals, i detest illegals. I could go on for DAYS about why they are wrong for America.
Gay marriage, union, wedlock, whatever, not so much of an issue.
If anything it should go to a state by state vote at most.
I will rather have gays getting married than having illegals becoming citizens then demanding for our constitution and national anthem song to be written in Spanish as a second language rather than learning English.
I think it's fair for them to learn how to speak English because if one of us Americans move to other countries, the countries won't change for us immigrants.

You crack me up. You might be interested in this. There was this MS Sen. who died in 1947. He wrote a book making the argument that it would quite literally be better if the U.S. was destroyed by a nuclear holocaust than to have integration. He was scared of "white" people becoming extinct through intermarriage.
What's really underlying this anxiety, since y'all aren't going to reproduce yourselves, at least not exactly.
I don't see legalization of ALL illegal aliens as a good or workable solution to our immigration problem - but let's face it, we DO have one, and deporting or euthanizing them all just isn't going to work. Better to acknowledge their presence and grant them a valid social security number than trying to boot them all out and failing in the process.
Same-sex marriage, on the other hand, can NEVER be justified. It is a perversion of the moral order and a grand violation of the natural law.
