Could Gay Marriage, Marijuana and Guns Lead to a Fragmented United States of America?

Very interesting article in governing magazine on how the USA is appearing to become more fragmented.

Marijuana is a stupid reason to fragment the country. May as well fragment it over who thinks Arrested Development is funny and who doesn't.

The other two are a little more tricky but I really think it's just the fringe on both sides who cause all the trouble.

Guns is the only thing that I see causing trouble. You can almost guarantee secession if the federal government ever seriously cracks down on gun control. The other two, like you said, I only see the fringe on each side really making a huge deal over.

I don't see how.... The people with guns won't let the other 2 split, but they are free to pack it up and leave.

States taking more control and telling the feds to **** themselves when they stick there nose where it don't belong.

That's what we should have been doing all along.

And a Congress and President that can't compromise and get nothing done are making progress. If you believe in freedom.

Excellent article. Just wish the States would nullify federal laws more often.

From what I see in super leftist Toronto is that the city is fragmented into two camps...The under lying state of mind can be distilled down to something simple...Conservatives are basically those do not respect homosexuality or bi-sexuality...Liberal are pro gay and pro bi....People don't speak of it but that is what it is...There are the free thinking conservatives and the drone like liberals who do not think and who are robotic...They all look the same with the same expression. The left does not think and does not want to be fully aware of reality.

I don't get this. Are you saying that by NOT disrespecting someone you aren't thinking or aren't aware of reality?

Good article and I love it and hope too see more of it. The states choosing their own destiny is way better then the frederal gvt one size fits all and expands freedom. Both of us being in Ohio could care less if Cali wants to have their own cap and trade that is up to their leaders. The people have a recourse if they do not like it and can vote the reps out or put it on the ballot. But with bad or disagreeable legislation from DC there is very little we can do about it except put up with it. I say let freedom ring and let the states make their own decisions
