Are there many highly educated and intelligent racists?

The media is always telling us about the evils of racism and how only the ill informed, naive, stupid and obscene of us are admitted racist. The media likes to show racists in the worst possible light and usually they are people that look like they are one inch away from complete insanity.

Maybe there is a different way at looking at it. There has been some very intelligent and educated people through the years that have believed some real out of the mainstream ideas. They have thought about it long and hard and researched the topic indepth and came up with a conclusion that is far removed from the mainstream.

In the topic of racism is it possible for someone to be an admitted racist but is highly intelligent, accomplished and sincere? That just how they see the world.

So, can there be a sincere highly educated and intelligent racist? And will you accept them for their analysis of the topic?

Absolutly, William Shockley who shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with John Bardeen and William Brittain for inventing the Transistor and solid state electronics was known in his later years for champaigning the idea that whites were genetically superior to blacks and this accounted for their higher scores on IQ tests and their sucess in other areas of life. This is an idea we now know is pure nonsense and definetly RACIST!!!

Being highly educated doesn't mean one is intelligent. Some highly educated people are lacking in common sense and logic. Therefore not very bright in that area. People can be racists whether they are highly educated, intelligent or having had only a grade school education or the IQ of a kernel of corn. There are racists in all races and regardless of their party affiliation. I think those who constantly call others that they don't agree with racists, are the true racists themselves.
