Good point! The big difference is that you don't see the media fawning all over Duke or Savage....why do they over Jackson and Sharpton?

because the media doesnt know who else to go to. They go to these two because they represent the black left and they dont want to hear the voices of other black people, just the blacks who cry victim over and over again.

As a white man, there are many people who I admire. Some I admire for their well spoken manner, their intelligence, their business skills, their ability to sing, dance, or act, their athletic abilities, their physique, etc. There's no one I admire just for the color of their skin.

amen Padge, i dont admire people just because they are of a certain skin color. I dont have heroes based on race, I dont vote for a person based on race, i dont choose friends or partners based on race, but MOST people in the US do

And there are those like Danny Glover that seem to get fed up with US politics and policies, and put their energies elsewhere--Africa!

i wish he would move there since he hates this country so much. I love this country and the african country of my ancestors(Sierra Leone/Gambia). But my allegiance is to this country.

Did you read that Glover hates the US? I haven't! But I know he was beginning to take on some important racial discrimination issues and then seems to have removed himself and last reported was in Africa.

Now if the officers life is in jeopardy by all means the cop needs to use whatever is necessary to protect himself and anybody else. But, it seems alot of times the cops are killing people while they are trying to flee and that is a crime, I am not sure but I believe that the case Tn vs. Garner set the precedent for this issue.
My point is more often than not they scream and jump up and down accusing & pointing fingers before THEY know facts! They get all excited because the person(s) involved are black. Any excuse to yell prejudice even when the incident has nothing to do with color. They MAKE it a color issue and I'm sick of it. They also run things into the ground or blow it out of proportion! That's my point!

What really bothers me is anytime I see Sharpton or Jackson getting involved in any race related court battle...whether people vs police or lawsuit or otherwise. This includes Rodney King, the man that was killed on his wedding day by police and others. All we get to hear about is what the media tells us. We do not get to hear what happens behind closed doors with the judge, attorneys and especially other political power. Sometimes I think they wait to see where the media is going with the situation, contemplate the "majority's" standpoint (local majority probably more so than overall majority) and use those standings to influence the outcome (ruling) of the situation.
I think in a case like Rodney King when they had riots in the streets etc. that really put a hamper on our system. You may have a situation where if they find in favor of the defendant there will be a riot from the opposing side and vice versus. Therfore, sometimes I think local (possibly state and federal, depending on the magnitude of the case) officials may conspire with the judge to rule a certain way in order to alleviate any riots or other problems, or at least keep it to a minimum.
I don't know...maybe I'm wrong...but whenever Sharpton or Jackson are involved I have to wonder the legitimacy of the outcome and the agendas behind them.

CAROLINAJACK AND GOPADGE...YOU ARE BOTH AWESOME!
