Hard-core rhetoricians will note that Obama was employing an obscure tense known as the “conditional,” and an arcane rhetorical device known as a “hypothetical.” He said that if you were to take the number of Muslims in America, then one could see America as ranking up there with other Muslim countries — in numerical, hypothetical terms.
To say "one of the largest" a bit of a stretch, when countries like Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Yeman all have double and triple digit Muslim populations. With only about 2.4 million Muslims, the US is a is a middling player when it comes to a Muslim population.

Larger (muslim population) then 75% of the countries. So wouldn't that be included in "one of the largest"?

Because most of those other countries could not qualify as "one of the largest" if 100% of their population were Muslim due to their low total population. Now do you understand?

The largest population of Muslims outside the Middle East is near Detroit. That's what he meant. The OP misconstrued the statement.

The healthcare bill for starters.
We also know that his "christianity" came from Rev Wrights church which hates America.
A Christian knows from the bible that we are to support Israel.
He supports muslims, not christians or jews.
Any chance you could explain what Obama's "muslim actions" are???

Ya, I didn't think so.

Wrong. Here he is "bending over to shake hands with a shorter man" per Robert Gibbs.

Nah. He has done a lot of "damage control bowing" to other leaders since that first bow to King Abdullah.

Odd, I thought it was because it was a sign of respect and trust in their culture. And instead of being ignorant to that fact, he embraced it. It is also odd that if bowing is what caused the damage (whatever that may be.) than why would more bowing be damage control?

Seriously. It's called showing respect to other world leaders.

I'm having trouble finding your posts complaining about Bush holding hands and kissing King Abdullah. Could you please repost them so we can all see the nonpartisan consistency of your complaints?

Thanks.

(just imagine how the far right would respond if Obama kissed and held hands with the guy! Oh my.)
