I fully credited MSNBC with this quote because the interviewer did not call out Thomas on it immediately after the sentence ended. Whenever fringe wingnut statements like this are made, there should be a Shepherd Smith like person on the other end basically replying "what the h*ll?!"

So far, he is about what I expected. If he continues on the path as I see it, the liberals and some in the "anti-neocon" crowd will rationalize his decisions as being wise and insightful, no matter the negative fallout. Fortunately, as time goes by we have things we can measure, such as exports, rates of inflation for consumer goods, kilowatts generated from solar or windpower sources, healthcare cost and wait time for procedures and the number of troops remaining in Iraq/Afghanistan.
