This is just one of those issues I wish our State or Federal officials would stand up to and say "it's just not worth it" and make it legal. I dread another controversial issue going to "the people" after seeing what happened with abortion and gay marriage. What a waste of time and money. If it wasn't already illegal nobody would be pushing to make it so, that's the honest truth.

Decriminalization would save the nation billions on wasted law enforcement and incarciration time; not to mention giving otherwise law abiding citizens a record.

Drunk driving kills far more people than driving high! Rigid laws against marijuana are just ancient and interfere with civil liberties.

Default My thoughts

Please, don't legalize marijuana simply for the fact that it could be a boost to the economy. The tax revenues would certainly help but that's no reason to legalize it.

Please, don't legalize marijuana simply for the fact that it could put an end to the violent drug cartels that control the distribution of it here in the United States.

Please, don't legalize marijuana for the fact that it could free up law enforcement to concentrate on more serious, violent crimes and allow the DEA to concentrate on the addictive drugs that cause crime.

Please, don't legalize marijuana for the fact that many states are beginning to decriminalize it's use and possession.

But please, legalize marijuana to take to get it out of the school yards and playgrounds. Legalization will take it off the street corner where anyone can buy it. It should be sold to adults, 21 and over as alcohol is.

The debates are over or should be. It's the same thing being said time and time again just in different words. Stop the war against marijuana and stop arresting the citizens of this great country for it's use.

Regulate it and tax it.

Even if a state makes it legal or decriminalizes it, they always run the risk of their citizens being targets of the federal government.
