Not only will it boost the economy, but it will eliminate most marijuana related crimes. That's the same for cocaine, ecstasy, etc.

It should be legalized. 1. the government would generate a whole lot of tax revenues and 2. it would allow DEA agents to focus more of its resources on the really bad stuff like meth and crack. Not to mention it would solve a lot of our problems with prison over-crowding which would help avert the premature releases of extremely violent criminals.

Please, don't legalize marijuana simply for the fact that it could put an end to the violent drug cartels that control the distribution of it here in the United States.

Please, don't legalize marijuana for the fact that it could free up law enforcement to concentrate on more serious, violent crimes and allow the DEA to concentrate on the addictive drugs that cause crime.

Please, don't legalize marijuana for the fact that many states are beginning to decriminalize it's use and possession.

But please, legalize marijuana to take to get it out of the school yards and playgrounds. Legalization will take it off the street corner where anyone can buy it. It should be sold to adults, 21 and over as alcohol is.

The debates are over or should be. It's the same thing being said time and time again just in different words. Stop the war against marijuana and stop arresting the citizens of this great country for it's use.

Regulate it and tax it.
great post

Ending the propaganda surrounding Cannabis will go a long way to changing popular opinion, its proven it doesn't do any harm.. That said, legalizing, NOT decriminalizing is the answer, decriminalizing would only make the problem worse. i mean really, know one understands why it is illegal, i can't find a reason. I wish Cannabis was more accepted and medically legally when i was a kid. I have ADD and what various things i was prescribed didn't really work correctly, and gave me SCARY HORRID depression. They are giving kids MJ cookies and it is apparently doing wonders.. so that there would have been great, not to mention i would have been able to breath during the day as well, have yet to find anything better for my allergies...

Cannabis is illegal for the same reason that high fructose corn syrup is govt subsidized: lobbying billionaires care more about capitalizing profits than promoting your health and well being.

On the other side, the obvious correlation between prohibition and drug violence is a no-brainer.. unfortunately most voters don't seem to have said brain.

I MUCH prefer "The Union: And The Business Behind Getting High" A MUCH better film, not that super high me is bad, but seriously the Union is one of the best documentaries i have ever seen.

I'll have to check it out. I loved Super High Me. I mean...it didnt get too scientific or anything. I just like the way it was put together. And Doug Benson is one of my favorite comedians.

There was one the other day on BBCAmerica called "Should I smoke dope?"
It was pretty good but the lady doing the experiment was completely out of her element. And it really put the plant in a bad light at first. I mean...its not for everyone, but she was almost acting like the people from Reefer Madness in certain parts.

Yeah, i think i saw part of that on the BBC... but things are WAY less progressive in the UK regarding cannabis. The Union isn't a science film, i honestly wish they delved deeper into scientific aspects, but there was a TON of really great interviews and all around good information, throughout the entire hour and 45 minutes it always has my complete attention, its never boring at all.

The Union
